The 10 Tantrik Yamas
Yama #5 of the Classical Yogic Tradition
Aparigraha
Dispassion (Non-Attachment), or “Don’t Be Greedy”
Embracing Dispassion to Liberate the Soul from Greed and Aversion
“A yogi should not become attached, through bias, to anything that is not real,
and should immediately exorcize, as though they are evil spirits (graha), the eight ‘possessors’.”
A crucial teaching on the balance between the joy of living and getting lost in life (which is sometimes quite okay, too!). Non-attachment doesn’t mean giving up everything to retire to a forest. In fact, you might retire to a forest and still be quite attached—to outcomes, your body, your comfort, and more.
The Yoga Sutras teach that dispassion is the way to centeredness and the taming of the fluctuations of mind. We correlate this sutra with the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, an ancient scripture that encourages the development of insight and the cultivation of freedom—from both attachment and aversion—to know the Absolute at your core.
In this satsanga, we examine what it means to be greedy on both ends of the spectrum. We explore how to overcome the habituation of both aversion and attachment, retrain the ego to do its job without running the show, stand tall and brave at the center of our actions, and take ownership of our true authority to create, preserve, destroy, conceal, or reveal intentionally and in alignment with life itself.
We also dive deep into the traditions of Yantra & Mantra, cosmic resonance, and sacred geometry, showing how these practices support non-attachment to that which doesn’t serve your highest goal and help reorient your life toward what is more enduring.

Excellent! When I feel as though nothing will top the last lesson… there’s this. I tend to listen a few times to fully digest all the wisdom that’s imparted and this lesson was no different. Always a pleasure to be part of the live but I thoroughly appreciate that these are accessible for those that need a few listens, as well!!! Thank you!!

I finished going through this recording last night David. absolutely loved it! When you can just sit and take it all in, it’s just amazing ✨️
Learning more on the subject of balance, dispassion, not being too attached to this or that, to create a better alignment with life and the freedom that comes with it. Recognising the demons of the mind, and creating an intentional neutrality, completely unfuckwithable haha.
I was really happy to learn about Yantra’s/sacred geometry, their mantras and how they are used I found it so interesting, and a really useful subject going forward.
There was so much brilliant information here David, and it is great to be able to go back to it, as a reminder as and when needed.
The meditations were just wonderful as always.. Wu Wei… teaching the art of non force, to just watch devine play unfolding without attachment or aversion, accepting life as it is. Wonderful! I came out of that meditation feeling such innocence in my heart, it was beautiful.
I loved the way you explained about the seed mantras, I’ve never really been able to connect with my Aums, but the way you explained them, so well.. I could really feel the vibration resonating in the heart, up into the pallet, into the 3rd eye, then crown and above! It was fantastic! I really feel this will be a fantastic move forward for me in my spiritual practice. I felt such a connection when doing it.
The final meditation.. WOW! This blew me away! It was fantastic, I was completely surrendered to that recognition of essence nature. This is going to be such a beautiful addition to my practice.
Thank you David for these gifts
