Description
Pangong Lake is located on 4500 m in the Ladakhi Himalayas bordering to Tibet and it’s on the edge on human life in the high altitudes. The painting is a tribute to the mountains. In the traditional Tibetan tanka paintings they depict clouds in a manner which suggests a schematic simplification of the form, but not, they really look that curvy way. The challenge with clouds when painting is that they move and change shape. One has to come to the essential pattern in them, and as if in meditation, subjective projections should be set aside. I am always careful not to leave garbage behind me on the spot where I paint, the environment up there is simply just pure.
