Description
Lotse and Company is the Southern wall of the Himalayas right next to and below Mount Everest, the border between Nepal’s Solokumbu region in the south and Tibet (China) in the north. First – third of October, days before the first snow fall. It’s cloudless to 2 pm as if after morning meditation. The main peak in the center of composition of mountains is called Lotse by the local Sherpa people. Her friends are all there: Nuptse, Chalang to the right and of course Her Highness Mount Sagarmata or Chomolunga (Mother Goddess of Earth) a.k.a. Mount Everest, she is the two peaks on the very left. The painting was made in the village Pangboche (4100). We are about 10 km from the object. The massive body of the world’s biggest mountain becomes a two-blue two-white abstract, how wonderful and brave. In the foreground over the yellow contrast of a juniper field there are small memorial monuments, man-size stone shrines and a walking monk. These constructions are erected to the memory of dead relatives, Buddhist lamas and lost mountain climbers.
